CHODS OF MACEDONIA AND SERBIA MEET
SAF CHOD Lieutenant-General Ljubisa Dikovivc met with Chief of General Staff of the Macedonian Armed Forces Major General Goranco Koteski.
Speaking about the significance of today's meeting, general Dikovic stressed cooperation and understanding were an essential condition for stability in the region,. Accordingly, as noted, the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia will focus international military cooperation on regional cooperation.
- I have already met with Chiefs of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Croatia, is preparing a visit to the Armed Forces and Slovenia. The cooperation of the Macedonian armed forces and the Serbian Army is at a high level, and today we will talk about the possibilities of its improvement as all the requirements are met –as General Dikovic remarked, adding that the general position was to unite the capacities of armies in the region, and the Serbian Army can offer the Center for CBRN training staff as a regional center for training and military base JUG, but exchange in the training of personnel, as well as the capacities for military medical and military economy cooperation .
According to him, the Army of Macedonia has significant capacity to be used for common activities such as Krivolak training ground and Media Centre.
The rest of the visit, said the general Dikovic, will focus on talks on the modalities of future cooperation and the use of these facilities.
- We have excellent mutual understanding, which is very important and I hope that in the years to come, cooperation will be high for the purpose of safeguarding security in the region - said general Dikovic.
Expressing satisfaction with today's meeting, General Koteski said that cooperation between the two armies were at a high level and in the interest of both nations.
- Future collaboration will focus on the exchange of personnel, use of shared capacities, especially when it comes to regional centers, as well as sharing experiences and lessons learned when it comes to peacekeeping missions where members of our armed forces participate- said general Koteski telling that the future cooperation would be based on honesty, common interests and good neighborly relations.
During their visit, the Macedonian delegation led by General Koteski was also received the Minister of Defense Dragan Sutanovac. In addition, the Macedonian delegation visited the Military Technical Institute and the Military Academy.
