Este espacio es para debatir acerca de la historia militar de la antigua Yugoslavia... Lo que aconteció en su territorio durante la IIGM, sus conflictos con Albania durante casi 40 años, y cualquier otro tema en que Yugoslavia cumpla un papel importante. Cabe destacar que estos conflictos, a pesar de haber sido largos y sanguinarios, son muy poco conocidos por la gente, además de que hay muy poca información en español, por lo que me encargaré de traducir algunos artículos del serbio cuando tenga algún tiempecito  Para ver el contenido hay que estar registrado. With the crisis in Kosovo deepening, and Serb forces embroiled in a bitter civil war with Albanian rebels,  the political crisis in Belgrade became increasingly polarised. While many Serbs remained loyal to Milosevic, others began to question the ultra nationalist policies which had proved so costly to Yugoslavia.  Pro-Milosevic protestors took to the streets, while the increasingly large opposition rallies were met with resistance by the police.

Milosevic claimed victory in the elections of 24th September 2000, despite mounting evidence that the  results were manipulated. Incensed at the electoral deception opposition parties called for mass demonstrations in the streets of Belgrade.

Milosevic and his supporters became increasingly marginalized and on the 5th October a revolution effectively took place as protestors defied the police and stormed the National Parliament in Belgrade. Shortly afterwards opposition leader Vojislav Kostunica became President, marking the end of the Milosevic era.

Pro-Milosevic supporters continue to protest for their former leader despite it becoming increasingly clear that his rule is finished.

Despite frantic counter protests by Milosevic’s supporters it became clear that a revolution had taken place within Serbia. Milosevic with his family and bodyguards were laid siege to at his private house in a Belgrade suburb by the Special Police whom he had once relied on.  After a violent stand off Milosevic was arrested and imprisoned in Belgrade. In a deal to gain international recognition the Belgrade authorities handed Milosevic over for trial to  the war crimes tribunal in the Hague.
